Easy Router in the field of Monitoring

The systematic and continious recording of technical conditions and processes is becoming increasingly important. Remote maintenance via the Internet with mobile industrial routers with the associated software, which is controlled by SPS systems, has now become the standard in many industrial sectors.

In the field of condition-oriented maintenance, a permanent monitoring, which have to show the operator without any gaps, what components must be replaced, repaired or maintained, is essential. It is now easy to connect networks via 3G (UMTS/HSPA+) Cellular Routers. In the same place it is also important to have FTP access with a fixed IP adress and VPN transmission.

The advantage of these modern systems is clear in comparison to obsolete maintenance. In the case of outdated (preventive) maintenance, the systems had to be switched off in predetermined time intervals and the individual components had to be replaced. This had the result that, on the one hand, partly still functional components were replaced and on the other hand in cases of accidental defects, the plant couldn’t get repaired in time and in the meantime of the complex replacement, the plant wasn’t able to operate. But thanks to the modern technologies there is the possibility of a continious state monitoring and therefore a optimum extension ofthe utilization the devices.

The M2M connection allows monitoring and thus also a behavioral structure  of the systems. As a result, a forecast can be drawn up of the medium and long-term state of the system, which can show up a fault detection on time. As a result, this leads to a clear reduction in downtime and a not inconsiderable prolongation of the lifespan of a system.

In the case of monitoring, more emphasis is placed on preventive remote maintenance – less on remote control – with external access. Thanks to the Internet and the LTE and UMTS Cellular Routers with the associated software, access is also possible outside the traditional Internet cable network.
